Do my staff need their own smartphones?

For face check-in, yes — each employee installs the StaffRegister app on their own Android phone and their face is verified when they mark attendance. For any employee without a suitable phone, the owner can mark attendance for them manually from the admin app, so nobody is left out.

How does face recognition work? Is it accurate?

Each employee is enrolled with a few quick photos. Matching runs on our secured servers rather than on the phone, so the face template is never stored on any device and cannot be copied off a lost or stolen phone. A check-in is accepted only when the face matches, the employee blinks, and whichever branch check you have switched on is satisfied — the shop QR being current, or the phone being inside the branch radius. A blink check stops a printed photo; it is not proof against a video played to the camera, so treat it as a strong deterrent rather than an absolute.

Can staff check in without scanning the QR code?

That is your choice, per branch. A branch can require the rotating QR, or accept face plus location instead, or allow either and let the employee use whichever suits where they are standing. The choice stays the owner's — the server refuses any method the branch has not permitted.

What if the face is not recognised?

The owner can mark that employee present manually from the admin app — it takes a couple of taps and is recorded as an admin-marked entry, so your reports still show exactly how each day was recorded.

How is salary calculated?

Set each employee as daily, weekly or monthly paid. StaffRegister multiplies verified attendance days by their rate, accounts for approved leaves and absences, and produces the month's payroll with PDF salary slips and WhatsApp receipts you send in one tap.

How does WhatsApp work in StaffRegister?

Automatic attendance alerts are live: when an employee checks in, checks out, arrives late or is marked absent, they get a WhatsApp message on their own number, and you can switch each one on or off per branch. Salary receipts and staff login details also open in WhatsApp with the message written for you to review and send yourself.

Yes — every plan supports multiple shops under one account. Each branch gets its own QR code, staff list, check-in rules and reports, and you see the combined picture on one dashboard.

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

Your data lives on Google Firebase with strict per-business isolation enforced by server-side security rules — no other account can read your staff, attendance or salary records. Enrolled face data is stored as mathematical templates, never as images. The single frame verified at each check-in is kept as a photo so you can review who was marked present, and is deleted automatically after 90 days (configurable, and erased immediately on request).
